A few more neat things I saw at Wonfes;
Hopefully, a new skelly line to replace Pose Skeleton RIP
There's another new doll line (Pardolls), but they have molded hair which sucks.
I also started to appreciate statutes, I guess I'm getting old, sigh.

BTW, there's 6 days left until ToyFair, I don't have high hopes for it either; it will be mostly licenseshit like Wonfes, but with the addition of gimmicky blind bag crap.

Realistic expectations: Moose Toys and Panda Mony will have a nice display, also more great looking Fortnite figures by McFarlane,
Less realistic expectations: Moose toys will come with Mighty Max-like line as they did with Shopkins Lil' Secrets.
Delusional expectations: New fashion doll toyline by different company besides MGA, Mattel and Hasbro, and new toy companies in general.

I hope you will have soldier! Also remember toys shown at wonfes get released much later (like in summer and such) so you may have chance to at least get one thing you really want.

I'm undecided on my opinion of the Pardolls' molded hair - they look fantastic in terms of the doll itself and the clothing, but the hair does detract from it and add to it at the same time. Weird.

>it will be mostly licenseshit
An unfortunate problem that badly affects the toy industry but its to be expected now.

<I hoped Obitsu would finally tackle the renewal of 1/6 male bodies
Turns out I was wrong! Obitsu did show up a prototype for 28cm male body and a teaser for new 1/3 products.
As usual as in last years, Obitsu blog is worthless garbage and I found about these through AmiAmi news, thanks you so much soldier for this >>325 .

The 28cm renewal leaves a lot to be desired; the torso is too damn long and the legs are quite short, not to mention the four part torso looks ugly. Looks like Obitsu was heavily inspired by 1000toys Synthetic Human and SHF Body-kun. I found it very odd that they decided to go with a completely different approach for the boys, both in terms of general look and joints. It would be huge bummer and utterly stupid if they will only have realistic male bodies alongside anime girl bodies. I remember that in the original Obitsu body line up had both realistic and more anime/stylized male bodies so I hope it would be the same case for the new one and hopefully they would also make realistic girls bodies too which would be amazing and allow for full choice.

As for the new 1/3 items; new 45cm body, renewal of 50cm body, new doll head (I'm guessing it's for the 45cm body) and an accessory which allows to move the eyes.

>>345
>they look fantastic in terms of the doll itself and the clothing
Indeed
>but the hair does detract from it and add to it at the same time
If they will do more fancy anime hair that cannot be replicated to a wig/rooted hair, the molded hair wouldn't be so bad.

Ahh...I see what you mean now.
It's a bit of shame, but I don't think a specific fantasy theme could've so much modularity in the first place.

>Like how you could buy set extension parts straight from Paymobil

Oof

>stylized non-traditional eyes
On second thought, they do look like an anime eyes, but much older style like 90's-2000's anime.

>At least it isn't licensed, so Playmobil can do what they want with the theme and won't pay through the nose for licensing
Yeah, that''s good, I'm intrigued to see what they will come up with.

P.S. I was surprised to see Playmobil coffin (which is part of Scooby Doo playset), is it a new part or a reused mold? I know they have coffins for mummies, but never thought they will/have regular onesSpooky
>>375
I wasn't really sold on them but seeing the amount of the accessories that come with me is definitely swaying me.

>>376
Strange choice of comic book characters - I was expecting something closer to superhero designs from the golden era of comic books, but some of these are just as good if not better. Fast food guy, skater guy, the fottballer, and the clown(?) all look great. The Scooby Doo line is incredibly disappointing though, they just look bad. I can't put my finger on it but the feel off. The only one that looks semi-decent is the clown.
>is it a new part or a reused mold?
New by the looks. The only coffins I've seen are the mummy ones and there was a vampire one not so long ago.

>I wasn't really sold on them but seeing the amount of the accessories that come with me is definitely swaying me
I heard they will come with a bracelet and I imagined a few accessories, but this much better than I expected. Also the packaging isn't nearly as wasteful as other blind bags (everything is made of paper/cardboard). For blind bag crap, I gotta say it's quite impressive and has really great value.

From wave 1, I want Starleen, Mrs Milkshake and Lady Nightmare.
I may grab Mr. Dentist, Kimby (the lemon girl without a cape) and Clare.
I'm still bummed that they didn't use the teenager/slender body from Spirit for the main girls.

>Strange choice of comic book characters - I was expecting something closer to superhero designs from the golden era of comic books
Yeah, it's weird they went with comic as format motif rather than capeshit genre itself.

>but some of these are just as good if not better. Fast food guy, skater guy, the fottballer, and the clown(?) all look great
I don't know, imo wave 2 is weaker and less good than wave 1. Not to mention, one of the villainess holds a boo sign which so fucking gay muh cyberbulling
I also like the fast food guy, the pencil girl is kinda cute and my favorite one with the unicorn hat very lego-esuqe

>The Scooby Doo line is incredibly disappointing though, they just look bad. I can't put my finger on it but the feel off. The only one that looks semi-decent is the clown
I'm not a Scooby Doo fan by any means, but I think they look decent and looks like Playmobil put a lot effort into giving them a great play value such as adding ghost card to every set which can be used for the Mystery Machine.

The thing is that Earth Rise Prime is a very different mold for no reason.
I can understand a remold to change his altwhat little different it has from his norm but why is he so insanely different mold wise.
It doesn't even sit as a genwun argument, because all it does is make Siege prime a wonky product. And these two primes will sit on the same shelf because they are being released back to back.

I don't actually remember how people reacted to prime being a blatant pre-toolor was he the mold reuse, i only remember people whining about the head master gimmick itself being attached to a bunch of characters who lacked it previously.
This still doesn't change the fact that since guntron is off the table, it literally means zero to what his alt mode is. Nobody has attachment to G1 Megatron with his """classic""" tank mode.
The tanktrons people remember haven't gotten a proper mold since forever, and i keep on seeing people who want these crappy hybrids painted as the notable for some reason; i legitimately cannot understand why someone would want that at this point.
Any of those kinds of repaints/slight retools looked like absolute dogshit for that, both Armada and G2.

Honestly i think Sky Lynx's base mode works really well, it actually looks decently clean. of course Scorponoks looks like shit like always because genwun in this case.
At least snapdragon doesn't have the milk plastic. I think outside of monster mode he looks reasonable, which is kinda a sad mode to sacrifice.
>>372
>but why is he so insanely different mold wise
Probably to justify another geewun Prime purchase; Hasbro who are notoriously known for reusing the same mold, wouldn't bother to create a new mold if they thought it isn't necessary and also they tend to be idiots.
>It doesn't even sit as a genwun argument, because all it does is make Siege prime a wonky product
Generations by whole with few exceptions is geewun redone. Siege is still considered geewun and yes their cybertronian alt modes were lazy and half-assed with few exceptions. Of course the new Earth Rise ver may cause the older ones look wonkey as Siege ver made older Generations look inferior etc; the whole point of Generations as I already explained is squeezing geewun to death, and how could Hasbro convince one to buy another G1 TF of the same character over and over if there's no improvements/changes?

>Honestly i think Sky Lynx's base mode works really well, it actually looks decently clean
I never meant to say it look messy, however, I don't see much of play value with this, hence I called it lame.

>of course Scorponoks looks like shit like always because genwun in this case
Not exactly, I mean take Fortress Maximus for example. The original G1 base mode was good, but Hasbro fucked the newer Titans Return version. Though, Scorponok G1 base mode wasn't the best, it's still look better than this panel-lined greeble mess.

>At least snapdragon doesn't have the milk plastic
And also no hollow arms (though his beast mode is full of gaps and hollowness).
>I think outside of monster mode he looks reasonable, which is kinda a sad mode to sacrifice
Agreed, they should've sacrifice the jet mode, I mean TFs jet mode are mediocre shit 99.9% of the time.
>>370
Now that's a kick-ass Transformer
>>374
The only reason earthrise works that way is forced differences, even the minor issues with siege will stick out compared to the near MP closeness of earthrise prime. Its reused toolingfrom studio series i think? to get rid of some notable issues.
This is probably the end of the road for such primes to really work anyway. They really do need gimmicks again to even be slightly worth it.not that i really get primes most of the time anyway.
>I don't see much of play value with this
I'm not exactly expecting much value from things that clearly were never built for it; it'd be like expecting good base modes from the scramble city main bots.
Actually that really makes me realize them actually normally having base modes makes them a decent fit for a later line huh. Combiner Wars was a decent time ago anyway.
>Generations by whole with few exceptions is geewun redone.
Yeah but a lot more emphasis on the redone part use to exist didn't it. Older Gen lines didn't give me the exact same alt mode. Power of the Primes, Combiner Wars and Titans Returns all have unique gimmicks to give some value to owning them all.
This also didn't suddenly mean they released the same idea of a megatronyou can argue primes trailer and different price point is "enough of a difference"; who really doesn't fit under this argument.
Yes it makes sense to give every line a megatron, but it doesn't make sense to spam the same one. Literally no-one actually cares what G1 tron is, well outside of the gun thing which will never happen.
A helicopter, truck or fuck it; a 2007 movie styled altmode G1 tron could be a thing and nobody would care if the robot mode looked right.
>I mean take Fortress Maximus for example.
Maximus is very blatantly hurt by cost cutting, Scorponok is very much just greeble. Which very much isn't a shock considering the line it comes from.
The panels look like G1 scorp to me, he's clearly missing a few parts from his G1 self; but the original toy also had a bunch of random panels.

I caught up with a good review and as I thought it might be; the "20 PoA" it's another one those cheats toy companies do by counting how the joints are constructed rather than the location of the joint, e.g. ball hinge joints would count as two PoA instead of one. In reality, she have 15 PoA: neck, jaw, tongue, shoulders, elbows, smaller arms, hips, feet and two points at the tail.

Despite the lack of articulation which leaves much to be desired, it's really fun and probably the best one from the line, huge shame it's Wallmart exclusive.
